Good Races and Reads

I watch precisely one car race a year, the Indy 500. Needless to say, it’s happening right now, and I’m loving the Marco Andretti story. Three generations! Two in the same race! One spot in front of his father (as of 12:26pm Pacific)! And did I mention he’s a 19 year old rookie?

But if the Indy isn’t part of your Memorial Day Weekend, consider reading SF Chronicle’s series on public schools in the city. This is part one, and I’m curious enough to see where they go with this (especially since I’m considering moving back to the city…).

Postscript (added Monday, May 29): What an exciting finish! I know it’s being played as more bad luck for the Andretti’s, but what a way to start (and end) an Indy career!

And here’s part 2 of the SF school series. Interesting questions about how to assign students…
